Overnight Stops: Halifax - Liverpool - Yarmouth 2 Nights - Kingston - Halifax

Arrive at Halifax's (1) International Airport and travel south along the unforgettable Lighthouse Route to nearby Peggy's Cove, one of the most photographed attractions in Canada. From there you continue to Lunenburg, a quaint historical fishing village with charming churches dating back to the 1750s, making an overnight stop at Liverpool(2).

Mahone Bay harbour Next up, a scenic drive around the southern shore through , stopping in Yarmouth (3,4) whose history dates back to 1604. Here in Yarmouth visit the recently restored 19th Century Acadian buildings and the towering Cape Forchu Light, or take some time to unwind and spend two days exploring the southern tip. Another option is to explore inland towards Kejimkujik National Park where you'll find historic canoe routes and many beautiful hiking and biking trails. Head to Digby with its long Spit jutting into the Bay of Fundy were you can watch catamaran ferries sailing to the mainland and whales feeding in the lush tidal waters.

Peggy's Cover Harbour Continue driving north along the lush and storied farming country of the Evangeline Trail to the French settlement of Annapolis Royal to visit the Royal Historic Gardens. Northward bound from here takes you along the fertile Annapolis Valley where you can enjoy stunning vistas of the Bay of Fundy, famous for its 15 metre (50 foot) tides, with an overnight stay in Kingston (5). Next, continue on to Windsor, where you can catch the amazing tidal bore on the nearby St. Croix River. Heading back east to Halifax (6), spend some time enjoying the history of the city (the Halifax Citadel, the charm of The Halifax Public Gardens, and shopping along Spring Garden Road).
